Thank David.
I can't reliably compare it to the Canons as I only really use those when having a casual look if clients bring them onto my workshops.
Same for the Sony.

It was bright though and I could make everything out in the dimly lit room. I never have had a problem with the D3's viewfinder even with moonlit Badgers!

Hi Richard,

Thanks for your insights.

I'm wondering about the viewfinder. Can you compare it to a 5d2 or a 1ds4 in terms of size and brightness? I'm coming from a Sony a850 which has an enormous viewfinder and I've heard that the d700 doesn't really come close.

Thanks!
(Note to our English readers, this translates to...)

<em>"Very nice comment, factual and specific.
I look forward to more as we get the camera, and factual comparison of the D700 and D800 with D3S d4.</em>"

Ah thanks for the link hq, good to have the stats.
This post was aimed at hopefully getting some additional info out there strait from Nikon rather than reading off stats from the documents already well posted around the web. Thanks for the link though! Good to know.
Cheers! Rich.

Re. your comments "no file sizes for these though" and "No buffering figures were available", those figures ARE available since Feb 7 in the D800 Brochure, page 26 under "Memory card capacity":

Hi Lucy, thanks for commenting!
I shall visit your site shortly.
I like the common sense approach you seem to be taking, not stating that it is a quick fix or the only way forward. Very good!
Rich.

Hi Richard,

I hope you and readers of your blog may find the work of our team of interest. We have a specialist team at Brock Vaccination, who trap and vaccinate badgers against bTB. Many of us have been vaccinating badgers for the past two years on the government led Badger Vaccine Deployment Project (BVDP). We have formed Brock Vaccination as we are committed to ensuring farmers/other landowners could access this service, and to ensure vaccination is carried out by highly skilled and experienced fieldsmen (as this will be critical to the success of any badger vaccination programme).

Badger vaccination is not a ‘quick fix’ solution, nor will it successfully control this disease without employing other methods. However, for many farmers, it should act to address the disease dynamics of their land for the long term, reducing the transmission risk from badgers to cattle.

We are working very hard to ensure farmers across the UK are aware badger vaccination is a practical option that they can choose to undertake now.

We have a website www.brockvaccination.co.uk that has more information on our team and the work we do.

All the best
